Sunday Calendar Setting: The Habit That Keeps You Winning

There's a simple habit I've adopted over the years that has had a massive impact on my consistency, my focus, and honestly — my quality of life.
It takes 15 minutes.
Every Sunday, I sit down and set my calendar for the week ahead.
Nothing complicated. No overthinking. Just intentional planning.
I look at what's already locked in — appointments, commitments, things I have to be at. Then I build my week around what actually matters most.
For me, that starts with my priorities:
- Faith.
- Family.
- Training.
- Work.
Those don't get squeezed in. They get scheduled first.
Workouts go on the calendar. Family time goes on the calendar. The things that keep me grounded and moving forward go on the calendar.
Then — and only then — do I allow everything else to fill in around it.
Why This Matters
Most people don't have a time problem. They have a priority problem.
If you don't decide what matters ahead of time, your week will get filled with things that don't.
You'll react instead of lead. You'll squeeze in workouts instead of committing to them. You'll "try" to make time for your family instead of protecting it.
And by the end of the week, you feel behind… again.
This Is How You Raise Your Standard
I have a standard for how I live my life — and that standard is built around my priorities. Not convenience. Not mood. Not whatever comes up.
When you take 15 minutes on Sunday and put your priorities into your calendar, you're doing more than organizing your week…
You're deciding how you're going to live.
You're setting the tone. You're creating structure. You're giving yourself a plan to follow when life gets busy.
And that's where most people fall off — when there's no structure to hold them.
Simple Action Plan
This Sunday, take 15 minutes and do this:
- Look at your week ahead.
- Identify your non-negotiables.
- Schedule your workouts.
- Schedule your family time.
- Build your week around those priorities.
- Then protect it.
If you need a place where your training is already on the calendar for you — coach-led, programmed, and waiting — that's exactly what we do at Sierra Tango Fitness. Pick your times, put them in your week, and show up.
Final Thought
Winning the week doesn't happen by accident. It happens by design.
Take control of your time — or your time will control you.
Set your calendar. Set your priorities. Set your standard.
Stronger Together.
